Tom was a parental figure, the leader, and he was the cohesive member that kept everyone together. New characters are introduced including a terrifying Big Badand the mystery of the plane is solved.
Chong especially made me laugh, with all of his smart-ass remarks. Several of his works are jonathaj development for film and TV, including V-Warswhich will be a Netflix original series. When the group saves a young girl from being eaten by the zoms, Lilah goes in search of her missing family.
Has the zombie plague mutated, or is there something far more sinister behind this new invasion of the living dead?
I did arrive at begrudging acceptance by the end however, and their existence does add an interesting layer to life post-apocalypse.

Where Jonathan Maberry gets his ideas is beyond me. I really didn’t care for the POV of our villains and various cult members. Right now, there are seven main books in the series and I’m very interested to see where things are going to go. Apr 06, Brooke added it. Benny, Nix, Lilah and Chong all express their grief and the lingering effects of trauma in different ways, but Nix is perhaps having the hardest time finding herself again, or put another way, discovering who she has become.
Two days later I still couldn’t stop wondering and worrying about what was happening out on the Ruin The cult feels it’s their duty to “open red doors” in people and release them into the bliss of death. Man, you should see all the notes I took on my Kindle while I read this. Thanks for telling us about the problem.
I mean, mentors always have to die in books don’t they? This of course could just be my eagerness to find out what happens next, but this book did not seem quite as complete as the previous two.
I can see where the story is going, and I can appreicate it on a technical level. This makes the ending that much more poignant.
Finding it is their best hope for having a future and a life worth living. A couple of new characters brought in some new aspects to the action and plot that I enjoyed. Page 1 of 1 Mabeerry over Page 1 of 1. Not everything is dark and dreary or foreboding this time out.
